Murano Collection
The Murano Collection
While not technically a city, Murano is well known in the international community. Murano is one of the largest islands in the Venetian Lagoon, with a population of around 5,000. The island of Murano is world-famous for its glass. Murano is not only the island of glass, but it is also the place where one of the oldest churches in the lagoon is located: the Basilica of Santi Maria e Donato. All the glassmakers in Venice were forced to move to Murano several centuries later. Murano remains seen as the location of some of the world's most beautiful glasses. This heritage is cherished and honored by the Murano collection.
